Staff Transition Announcement: Katelyn Kenney
I am writing to announce that Katelyn Kenney has discerned that she will transition out of her role as Canon for Christian Formation.
Katelyn began her time at Diocesan House in the summer of 2019 as the Missioner for Christian Formation, Congregational Vitality, and Missional Initiatives. We would not have had many of our youth events available post-pandemic without her determination and effort to get those activities up and running. How and when we will bring a new person into this position will take several months of planning and discernment. Katelyn is truly irreplaceable as a member of our staff.
Katelyn writes, “After four and a half years of service, I will be transitioning out of my role as Canon for Christian Formation to explore new ministry opportunities beyond this diocese. I am grateful for my time here and excited to build on the experience gained in South Carolina as I look forward to returning to Texas to spend more time with my family.”
I am grateful for Katelyn’s incredibly careful prayer and discernment in making this decision and her intention to give us the time needed to keep up the most important aspects of her position without creating too large of a gap in programming. Katelyn has also presented us with the gift of a strategic overview of both the original position she had originally and the positions she inherited with staffing transitions at Diocesan House. When the time is right, we will advertise nationally to fill this position.
Katelyn's last day in the office will be Friday, May 31. In the meantime, keep her, our youth, and your Diocese in your prayers.
