Cursillo Fall 2024 Update
The Cursillo ministry is a vibrant example of living out our diocesan mission: Making, Equipping and Sending Mature Disciples of Jesus Christ.” With the support of diocesan staff, Cursillo continues to expand our ministry within more churches throughout the diocese, as well as with similar ministries from other denominations.
In addition to weekends, we’ve sponsored a large gathering of people from several diocese and denominations for worship and witness at Trinity Cathedral in Columbia on May 18, 2024. We also hosted a training in July 2024, welcoming people from different parishes, dioceses and denominations. Discussion was lively and elicited many suggestions for growing weekends and Fourth Day experiences, being more inclusive and open to new ways of deepening the effect of our Cursillo ministry.
We have continued to simplify our schedule, with more focus on time for rest, reflection, relaxed spontaneity, large and small group discussions. We are working to bring fresh and new music to Cursillo.
Several Council members have been active in national Episcopal Cursillo Ministry trainings and leadership committees. We are dedicated to providing and growing a healthy and vibrant community and ministry.
