Reflection on Cursillo #144
My journey as lay rector for Cursillo #144 began long before we actually gathered together as a group at Camp Gravatt. I spent hours in the planning stages both at home and along side my wonderful staff. When the candidates began to arrive for their weekend I was expectant but nervous. I am so passionate about Cursillo, would this passion move the candidates? I hoped it would, I also hoped to help to grow each persons faith, their relationship with God and build leaders in our church.
As the weekend progressed, strong spiritual ties were established between the group. The love of the Lord was present and palpable as strangers truly became brothers and sisters in Christ. What a joy it was to see the fire ignited into each other to answer the call to serve Christ in the community and the world. The ability to grow together with the Cursillo community, and to witness the life changing experience it is for so many in our Diocese, is a blessing and a privilege.
A Cursillo weekend is always a foretaste of what heaven has in store for us. A time to serve and be served, and to be loved just as you are!
