Bridge Retreat 2021 Reflection
We hosted Bridge Retreat at Camp Gravatt May 15 & 16. It was a wonderful 24-hour experience for 5th and 6th grade participants led by high school members of the Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee. We learned about Jesus’ prayer for his disciples in John 17:6-19, and heard talks about the themes of prayer, God’s protection, sanctification, and joy. We painted rocks, did some team-building low ropes activities, walked a labyrinth, learned new songs, and played a lot of panda-ball!
As we entered the chapel on Sunday for Eucharist, we walked over a wooden bridge, to represent transition. Over the short weekend, we built a community together (over 30 participants!), even though many of us had never met each other before. Bridge was a great weekend, with time for games and contemplation. It was a great second retreat back at Gravatt!
